on my little trip down the road to get some roofing felt...i pulled over in the layby to roll a fag.............and noticed the barley had gone down again after the 2nd lot of heavy rain we had.......aaaaaannnnd.....................

as i started the landrover up 20-30 pigeons lifted out of the laid barley...........

now...just get the roofing felt done....finish the hedgecutting...order up the bits for the landrover...........the battery is all charged up for the magnet...and off we will jolly well go................

so keep yer eyes peeled...

Encouraging post ditch, i think your barley is slighty ahead of ours but it is certainly getting to that 'milky' stage, and there's a good chance the heavy rain has flattened a bit.

I am off out for a look shortly to check some peas and will certainly have a look at the barley after reading this.

The peas haven't really tempted the pigeons away from clover here but i reckon the barley will.

what i usually see first is the birds gritting in the lanes..................havnt seen that this year..............just seems they are going straight onto the barley.......proberly they dont need to grit as it is so soft at the moment

Are you a pigeon shooter or an odd job man? The jobs will be fine for another day. Get out and shoot a few.

Put that felt down and go and shoot man, if you don't someone else will.

No great hurry my boys , give them a few days to find it and get into a routine , that will give ditchman time to finish his pits and pieces , roll a few fags and go and get amongst them , all sorted and the report will soon be on its way ( with loads of very fine photos )
