pigeonblasterian
Had a ride round yesterday looking at farms to see what was on the crops. After doing just under 80 miles i found a few on a pea field and decided to have a go at it today. I got there this morning and it was a bit quiet on the field but while i was putting out scarers to keep them off one end of the field a few started to show on the field at the far side. I thought it might be a decent day so i gave Stuart a ring.He was on his way to one of his perms near me so i told him about the birds about and to come and join me for the day. It was about 600 yards to where the birds were dropping to feed so i had to use the barrow to transport all the gear to where we would be shooting. We had another steady day and managed to pick up 71 pigeons when we were finished for the day. Had to make two trips with the barrow to get all the gear and pigeons back to the trucks. But another good day out on the peas and a good workout for Stuart pushing the barrow.

fenboy
Well done! They seem to be in pea mode at the minute! i have been trying to cover various farms and taken over 100 on peas in the last few days here. Not on my patch they are not! The peas are due to be vined this week and I still have not shot a pigeon on the seven fields I have to go at.

The pigeons seem to have the more choice round your way with brassicas being grown that we don't realy have in this part of east yorks. It has to said though peas have not been that exiciting in terms of pigeons in recent years. The problem we have at the minute is there are peas everywhere! JDog
After eighty miles you deserved to find a field to shoot. That was a good bag too. The Old Fossil. Edited June 23, 2016 by JDog
pigeon controller
Great result, after a lot of effort, well done. They have started on the standing barley around us but no laid patches to shoot.
WelshMike
Good result mate. I think the sooner farmers are obliged to put good roads to all the best shooting spots the better
