dipper
I started my son at 9 with a20 he was taught by a coach who said he was fine with the 20.He was a average size boy .I would think a 11 year old should have no trouble with a 20 use a light load . Old farrier
Stick with the 4.10 He's happy to shoot it and enjoy it He's going to be able to decide whether to move up Enjoy the moment I even got myself one so it was fair competition 😗👌 Then when he beat me a few times I took out a 20 bore in his size (bad looser ) 😗😗 So I could win 😂 The cunning plan has worked so far 😂😂😂 All the best Of
hawkfanz
get a 28g instead, then u can use it for walk abouts, shot loads available fro 16gram to 28gram.

motty
I was using a 12 gauge at 11 years of age. If the lad is strong enough to wield one, why not let him use one?
IEH
I personally think a .410 is a gun for an accomplished shot. So, I would say go with the 20.
Stonepark
At that age, he should be able to handle a 20. I started with a 410 at 8 but got onto the 12 SxS when 12, and at 5lb for the 410, 7lb for the 12, a 20 at 6lb shooting light loads (21g) should be perfectly fine. Would be worth getting a youth and adult stock or slim and thick recoil pad and swap as he grows into it if it would help.
TONY R
Started all my three lads on a Hatsan Escort 20ga , And finaly its ended up with me as one of my main pigeon guns. They moved on to 12s before they were 12 and we just kept passing the gun down just like clothes
BrowningDJC
The 20 will give him a much greater chance of hitting targets. If not quite ready for the 20 a 28 with light loads would be a much better option than a 410.
