keg
As an ex civil servant the early retirement age is 60 not 32. As for the final pension being a full final salary that may happen to a very few , but after 20 years mine was 1\3 final salary when I retired this year after heart problems and a stroke at 63 years old. The real people too blame is the Tory govenment not the CS. My department had its staff cut by 30% over the last 5 years and is being cut now again by 28%. How can any organisation be expected to function with increasing work loads as more of the working population retire with its staff being cut by over half. The civil service gets the blame , but its the Tory govenment that's causing the problem. Whilst i have every sympathy for your position, the private sector has also had its problems with few or no pay rises and fewer people doing more. No one has been exempt. phaedra1106
While ATOS, Capita etc. are all a bunch or useless tossers they are, at the end of the day, only doing what they are told to by the DWP. The DWP set the criteria for being awarded PIP or ESA, when PIP was introduced it was designed to do one thing, reduce the number of people claiming disability benefit (DLA), the target was to reduce the number of claimants by around 24%, according to the DWP's own figures the actual rate of benefit fraud for people claiming DLA at the time was less than .5%, the lowest by far of any benefit. I was transferred from an indefinite DLA award to PIP earlier in the year, the ATOS assessors report is complete rubbish (to put it nicely), it describes how she saw me walk 60m from the car park to the assessment centre when in fact I walked 25m from the disabled parking place right next to the front door. Dozens of other mistakes and outright lies. Apparently all my conditions will all be better in 2 years so I only got a 2 year award which means I have to attend another assessment next February. They rely on a culture of fear, most disabled people are too scared of loosing what they are given to challenge their awards as they cannot afford to risk loosing it. kernel gadaffi
I know Jeff (Phaedra) and he is as genuine as the day is long, l know of his condition and I'm in a worse condition than he is, l had to attend a medical in March, resulting in a fictitious report being made, it was stated that l had walked over 100 yards from my car to the assessment centre, it was under 30, it was claimed l walked up the stairs, l used the lift, she stated l successfully completed all the tasks l was asked to do, l wasn't asked to even try any, she reported that l could touch my toes, wrong, all wrong. I appealed and gave my version of events, this was turned down, so I've contacted the Welfare Rights people and am awaiting a decision. There has been an upside to this that I'm not going to mention, but it has left them with egg on their faces and caused much embarrasment, which I'm very happy about and am looking forward to my day in court. daveboy
Atos have a very crafty way of writing the reports. My dad had to attend and some of the things in the report were laughable. The report stated "moved from waiting room 40m with no problems" (he was in an electric wheel chair) "unfolded his walking stick"(unfolds automatic) "Got on bed without step"(he was quite tall and his backside was the same height as the bed) At the time it was reported in the press that ATOS got a bonus for everyone they failed.
