glynwin
I have just purchase a Revo tactical from member Gaffertoo As described first class condition paid fee and £25 transfer fee for using RFD On Collection my RFD wanted extra £35 to complete deal suggested £25 already paid was merely postage and packaging Is this normal practice never bought gun before over net? Interested in views of more experienced buyers and sellers
TaxiDriver
Yes, Quite normal, you are after all using his 'services'. at his premises, he has paperwork to do. You didn't buy the gun from him so he hasn't made any profit from your purchase, He's in business to serve customers and hopefully make money for himself. You did check with him before arranging the purchase and shipping of the gun to his place of business ? If so, he should have made you aware of his charges at the time ? If not ? ...............well, You'll know better next time.
Zapp
It's completely normal to be charged by the sending and receiving RFD.
welshwarrior
Wasn't it Gaffertoo got on and had a post about this closed this week. This totally normal you want an RFD to do work for you expect to pay him for that work.
A.J.P.
Completely normal as previously stated. You may find that the more business you put your RFD's way, the cheaper such fees will be in future. Edited November 19, 2016 by A.J.P.

Hi all it keeps going then mmmm I see the Welshworrior has made a comment ,you did not get the thread closed down did you . I see this chap has hit the nail on the head ,yes you got it,,,the profit ,,,bang on .£35 to sign your SGC .One man said ,I can do it for £20 ,so if he can do it so can you .As I see it ,just plain and utter greed . I would like to see a fixed fee on sending and receiving set by all RFDs on this, you can do this but some one will come up with, I cant do it for that ,it takes me a hour to sign a SGC and to open the box it take two to do it mmmm sounds about right. Be the first put on your shop window what you charge ,your punters will drive by or say cor thats good could even buy something ,who knows you could make a friend or two because you not the way you charge. Go for it make friends .

But I'll let you crack on again and have another thread closed.
Scully
35 quid on top of 25 quid? Did you ask the RFD what you would be charged prior to the transaction? If not, and he now has your gun then your choices are very limited I'm afraid. You could try negotiating with him by buying something you need; there's always something a shooter needs 🙂 otherwise it's a case of stumping up but telling him you'll be taking your custom elsewhere in future and will make all your mates aware. I find it amazing how some can do it for 20 quid, while in this case it's cost 60, yet mine did it for nothing!

As has been said many times throughout this thread, the charge set by each individual RFD is perfectly acceptable. If you don't like it ring around, or even better establish a rapour with an RFD, give him some business and refer others to him, it might just lead to some great deals! Cranfield
This thread will close, as its chewing over old ground. As has been said, if you don't like the price offered for a service, look elsewhere. Some Sellers include any RFD cost in the sale price.
