WelshAndy
Dusted off dads 2" chambered side by side for today's shoot, Eley 24.5g number 6 shot. Managed to shoot two birds and here's a photo of the first. Glorious day in snowdonia, we finished on 8 pheasant, 1 woodcock and a pigeon. bumpy22
nice picture mate. great part of the world. i think its more to do with who is behind the gun than the size as you have proved. well done

WelshAndy
Thank you chaps The gun was my grandfathers originally, he wasn't a tall man. My dad in the other hand was quite large! The gun fits me a treat, still getting used to the feel of the smaller forearm on the side by side compared to my over and under. My plan once the season has finished is to get the stock re oiled as the finish is wearing in places.

Blackpowder
That is fantastic Andy. When the cry is for heavier loads, greater velocity it is time to remember that a even less than standard load in the right place does the business. WelshAndy
Thank you. My grandfather must have planned ahead also. I have quite a stock, probably a special order from Eley.
figgy
Nice to see the made in Great Britain common in my childhood. Think i would keep the paper cased Eley carts for boxing day each year and use the modern carts available today. Nice to use something with a bit of family history. wymberley
Lovely little guns that do the job. Father had three, a Hellis, Linsley and Patstone. He used to reload a genuine 2" (the Eley aren't) with a crimp closure. He kept on loading for something to do even after he stopped shooting and fifteen years after he died I still use a few on occasion.
