ElvisThePelvis
Looking for ideas, are the Primos tripod worth the cash? Seem a lot of money for three sticks..
Rst1990
I think they are worth the money, wouldn't go out with em. Sticks are ok but after using the primos tripod I won't be going back. The primos isn't a necessity it's a luxury really.

Savhmr
Vanguard are more sturdy and more reliable, plus have a pan head and can be used as monopod, bipod or tripod. Looked at both, was left very unimpressed by the Primos, bought the Vanguard and haven't regretted it.

steve_b_wales
Take a look at the HSF Tripod. Very sturdy and good quality. I've used them for a few years with no issues. I did go out a purchase the Primos ones though, plus the two point gun rest, because I 'needed' them! So far, I'm pleased.

Wildfowler
The primos are good sticks but for me the limit I'm happy to shoot out too off them is about 100m as they obviously lack the support at the stock end and I can't hold steady enough. I've taken rabbits out to 170m off them but that's on a calm night. For stalking I use the viperflex. Pricy but very good. Seeland do a version called Decoy for virtually the same money as the primos. IMO, depends what you're using them for. Rabbiting get the primos, stalking get the decoy. As I found out after driving over them :0/ these home made sticks must be quite popular , my mrs sells quite a few leather rests (hammocks) that fit them.
