went to a permission today (old maze stubble) to see if i could bag some pigeons or crows with the hatson watched for nearly 2 hours nothing doing so went to a field where me and ian have hammed the rabbits still plenty of scratts and rabbit warrens look very active so got set up with the 17 hmr raining on and off late afternoon everything wet through accounted for 2 rabbits at 80 yards body shot (food for the ladder trap) i could here geese on one field and sneaked up to about 150 yards there must have been 100 greylag geese they were grazing the field off only 6 Canada geese there so accounted for 3 of them the 17hmr droped these with ease i carried these about 1000 yards back to pick-up i didn't realise how heavy they are glad i only shot 3 i phoned ian to see if he wanted the geese which he did while waiting for ian i shot 3 pigeons on a flight line running alongside a rape field informed the farmer about the damage to the crops so a banger gun will be on there first thing in the morning well chuffed with result and a unusual days pest control

Probably is possible, but a small target that doesnt stay still for long. Ive always found the base of the neck and chest the place to go for when facing and as said between wings from behind.

was just thinking about meat damage ,but base of the neck would be ok
