Stealth Stalker
I've been getting more involved with the vermin control on the pheasant syndicate I'm in, as there have been a lot of sightings of foxes round the pens & the squirrels & magpies are everywhere So Saturday morning after 4 hours kip, from being out with Pin controlling the bunnies the night before I was mooching round the shoot at 5am, when I noticed some crows swooping & cawing a field away, so I give a little call with the fox shoot caller & in the barley some 500 yds away appears the fox a bit more calling & she's running in full pelt, so about 35 yds away I yell at her to stop & like a well trained gundog she grinds to a halt & receives a bullet to the head, straight down without a twitch After a few problems with the .22 rim, some on the part of the rifle & some on the **** behind it, I now have every confidence in it and have been taking out rabbits 85 yds plus & putting same hole groups on targets at 60 yds  I then noticed a large doe in the grass margin some 70 yds away & could only take the shot standing, I took her out clean as a whistle with a shot to the boiler room, paced out at 73 yds  From Saturday to today I've had a tunnel trap with a mk4 Fenn in one of the pens & each time I've checked there's been a squirrel in there, total of 11 to date :yp: & this morning the larson had caught a maggie as well :yp: I can't get enough of this vermin control at the moment Cheers Stealth Stalker

Stealth Stalker
nice landy there.good shootingg The landys great, or at least she was, later that day Pin was in it saying how she'd be going long after his Jap 4x4 motor was converted to baked bean cans. Then that night going to the shoot to check the larson & other traps she died on me So seeing as Pin had jinxed her, I called up my knight of the road for some assistance, 20 mins later I see his Pajero pulling up with flashing amber light, tow rope, walkie talkies, food, flasks of hot tea, warm rugs. And before I know it I'm on the end of a white knuckle tow home, I don't think she's ever been so fast in her life Cheers mate I owe you one Squirrels are suckers for fenn tunnel traps, caught 3 in mine today! Alex Alex your not wrong there mate, since Saturday I've had 16 now, expect to see some more in there this evening
tikkamark
Well done great to hear someone taking part in a bit of vermin control i think im the only one at it in my area rest of the "shooters" in my area put there guns away at the end of january and expect the game birds to fend for themselves until november The crows mobbing the fox is always a great warning sign that charlie is about
Holland&Holland
Nice pictures, thank you for sharing. But did i understand correctly that you shot a roe doe with a .22 rimfire? I do not think .22 has enough energy to go after roe's. Or am i wrong? At least it is not allowed in the Netherlands.
