I agree he was a heinous criminal and I am glad that he is dead.

What I don't understand is the media fascination with him and his death.

Special TV programmes, front page of the Daily Mail two days running, with a seven page history inside, its almost as though they are revering him as some sort of celebrity , someone who should be honoured and mourned.

The quicker he is forgotten the better, he was one of those that I think revelled in his notoriety and never showed any signs of remorse.

Brady and Hindley were the most evil of beings ,so why would some tabloids want to print an eight page pull out , these #######s should R.I.H. and not forgetting that misguided idiot ,Lord Longford who campaigned for years to get them parole ,, sorry Lads rant over

That Longford was beyond offensive, he was the epitome of a lunatic liberal, telling the world this vile woman was a nice person, he acted like he had superior intelligence and that ordinary normal people just couldn't get what he was saying. I remember the bbc made a programme on him a while back fawning over him.

I dont class the Krays or the great train robbers in the same league as the like of Brady, Hindley or Fred West. They were killing & inflicting pain for money. The moors murderers killed for the sexual pleasure that it gave them. The others were wrong ens without doubt, but not like Brady.

He was in correspondence with a journalist for six years and gave him details of names of other victims including two in London. The police were not interested because he was already locked up for life and wouldn't be able to stand trial in any case. Their attitude was there was nothing to be gainedThe journalist never made that public until this week but now he (Brady) is dead I suspect a lot more will emerge.

I really picked up on this from that programme the other night. There was so much information just laying around that hadn't been used or actioned. The piece about the bloke in the lay-by who saw Brady and hindley unloading a package, a spade and head off over the fence and out over the brow for about quarter of an hour and then return without the package. Brady and hindley got in their vehicle did a U turn, pulled up alongside this bloke and hindley Lent over Brady and ffed at the bloke for being a nosey B. She then told Brady to drive on. When the bloke told the police about this ( when the searching was taking place) plod told that the bloke that Brady didn't drive and that he was talking a load of nonsense. Possibly they were planting another body which Still hasn't been found. It's almost as if plod had gotten a conviction and didn't want to start getting involved in another expensive hunt and dig session. Leading to an unsolved case on the books. It turns out that both Brady and hindley habitually carried revolvers and used to go up on the Moors target shooting. I tend to think that hindley although not so much of a nutter as Brady Was possibly the more dangerous and cold blooded of the two who would be like a chamelion, using the prevailing conditions to cover what she was really like. She had dealings with Cheedle rifle club and she had a 45 webley and a Smith and Wesson 38. And a 22 rifle.

Although his name has never been directly implicated in the investigations, Lord Longford was 'best mates' with a long list of the people subsequently named in child sex abuse allegations. Saville, Janner, Britten, a man called Frank Beck and a whole lot more. Too many in my opinion for it to be coincidence

Being a firm believer in the no smoke without fire principle, maybe Longford's fascination with Hindley was not just as a bleeding heart liberal who thought she should be released. Maybe she was the real deal.
