HW95J
I seem to remember a recent post on this topic. The following article, also referenced on BBC News, brings a new layer of complexity to the issue... https://basc.org.uk/blog/press-releases/latest-news/fierarms-ban-will-derail-rural-tourism-in-scotland-says-basc/

Pushandpull
Stranger with the pile of luggage, proudly labelled for Portree........ The opening lines of a sentimental poem, "At Euston, by one who is not going", which speaks of the civilised Britain which has slipped away. Google it. Scully
Then don't give them your trade but do remember to tell them why, and also don't forget to tell the estate etc you are travelling to, nor the owner of the accommodation you may be staying at. Uilleachan
Welcomed on the. Caledonian overnight sleeper. Just read on the basc site Yes, but unless you're getting off en route to Fort William/Inverness/Aberdeen or someone's coming to pick you up, you can't continue on via the remaining network. Receiver fore-end and slips in the luggage, barrels in a rod tube. Just talk loudly about salmon in an English accent and a body'll be fine

What, in Inverness Ft.William or Aberdeen? It's easier to fly with a gun these days, anyway. Just an extra 10 or 15mins at checkin, after it's tagged, taking it to the special desk. lancer425
 https://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/358072-traveling-with-gun-on-trains/page-2I clearly ducked under any radars metal detectors, when i went up to Scotland to swap a gun for my old van. But seeing that i think i would pass on that in future, i thought it would be viewed as sketchy was why i asked, i think its whats known in the trade as flying by the seat of your trousers. . Scully
That's interesting news for members of several London clubs. I travel to and from London quite a lot by train; I haven't come across even one 'metal detector' yet. At Euston when you check in at 'left luggage' they actually ask you if you have any firearms in your case! Nice staff.

One of my clubs, I know people who travel by train.

Salopian
Sadly this is the state of GB now , I was not aware that villains with Mac & Uzi's travelled by train ? Last I heard it was mainly Gentry travelling North around August time? If we cannot ban Burkhas or contol Sabs what chance of we got have having sensible debate or fairness for the Country Gent?
