rdcp
Hi quick question. I live in West Yorkshire. I am buying a shotgun from a friend. There on online forms for buying and selling a gun which you email in to police. Does the friend also have to write the gun details on the back of my certificate or is filling in the online forms all that is required Thanks in advance

saddler
Never use the online forms.....next thing they'll be citing their supply of them as another reason for fees hikes. Just send an e-mail after to them after purchase. Maker, serial no., seller info., etc. Seller fills in your SGC sales table (as per the guidance printed on the SGC)
defender
I email the details to the plod and the seller fills in the gun details on your licence.
Good shot?
Your friend as you said (not you) needs to put gun details on your cert, and you also need to tell police of the aquisition of the gun.

viking
i email them to, telling them all my details, all the seller details and the gun details, this is there address if you dont have it. firelic@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk and as others have said, your mate should enter his and the gun details on your certificate, there is a bloke on here who will have you for asking this question, and he will probably say something along the lines, " you should know the answer to this, and if you dont you dont deserve a license" can anyone guess who im talking about?? spandit
Take a photo of his licence to make sure you have the number correct when you notify the police.
Newbie to this
Take a photo of his licence to make sure you have the number correct when you notify the police. Doesn't he have to put his cert number on yours when he fills it out, also don't forget that he has to also inform his Police force of the sale

It's just belt and braces, only a suggestion
