washerboy
Honest John webpage has real mpg figures that owners post up, always worth checking out
leadbreakfast
I wouldn't be happy with that mpg, I have a 3.6 tdv8 auto and get better than that. But saying that sometimes my average mpg on the computer freezes and after a reset it shows the recent mpg
figgy
Until the engine has ran for a few thousand miles like ten or twenty it will still be tight and your mpg will be down. As it gets miles on it will improve but not by a massive margin. The Hilux always was greedy and liked a drink. Friend has Isuzu Denver rodeo iirc 2.5 and gets very good mpg, when we all Tavel to shoot he gets upto ten mpg better than other lads pick ups. Pigeonshooter22
Nearly bought a Hilux but went for a FL2, not as hefty but i get 34mpg on a daily basis and 40mpg on the motor way so glad i didn't go to a hilux as couldn't afford 17mpg, even though they're lovely cars. Hope they fix it for you,

dazb1967
Mine did 31 but only after it did 40k miles. New model version I didn't like as was so slow. Disco 5 3.0 doing 33.5 driven fast. Ive currently got the new Invincible Hilux and had the old 3.0ltr Invincible and the new one I have is definitely faster and smoother than my old model, MPG is not as stated but around 5mpg better than the old model
Perazzishot
Sorry mate I can't remember. It bolts on, and it comes with a wiring loom and you fit it yourself. About £160 and you can remove it before going back to the dealers. Saying that my mate got a Toyota dealership to remap the ECU it was about £300 and he got much the same gains! johnnytheboy
For some reason I think you can get a phone app that lets you track your mpg really accurately, maybe worth a look
Fisheruk
My Dmax does 34.1 as an average, can get 37 on a motorway run at 68. That's an auto. The manuals are even better. Edited October 2, 2017 by Fisheruk
