Guest stevo
I too have just been and bought a Franchi Affinity so also problem solved Just got it home and took it to bits for a good look inside and from what I can see its a benelli ! Plus a seven year mechanical warranty. And for £615.00 bargain too. 👍 Edited October 5, 2017 by stevo
Westley
That was really helpful billy thanks In that case I suppose that the suggestion of "shoot when it's warm" is out ? I presume that the stock is synthetic and not wood then ? Is it possible to put on a thinner pad ? Beretta supply 2 with their 391 range, to overcome just this problem. If the answer to all of these is 'NO', then the suggestion to change the gun is not a bad idea after all. Having seen people struggling with a 'too long' synthetic stock made me determined never to buy one.
Michael Scotland
DO me a favour lads if you don't know how to fix my problem which you obviously don't please don't waste my time .if there are any sensible people still on this forum I would be glad of your advice
Zapp
If you read between the lines, others who have encountered the same issue have chosen to go and buy another gun. That alone suggests that the answer may be "no". How about the points Westley raised to try to help you? You'll be lucky to get any sensible posts by kicking off at people. Michael Scotland
There are no shims to be removed .it actually came with shims to put in . the stock is plastic and the rubber but is v shaped at the gun end as I said on my original post

Guest stevo
Why not talk to your RFD/ gunsmith he may be able to offer a surgestion , but I think you will find your going to hit a brick wall unless you want to seriously modify your stock. Which is really not worth spending the money on. . Maybe spend some money on some proper base layers therefore maybe reducing the amount of clothing you seem to be wearing . Or sell the hatsan and buy something else that will allow you to swap recoil pads for summer/winter use . On my old semi auto I had a 10mm pad for winter and a 22mm for summer . Those are pretty much your options so You choose .
Fen tiger
How long is the rubber pad from back of the stock? If it is excessively long it could be you have a youth model long pad. Escorts on the youth stock length need shims and the long pad. Edgar brothers could be worth a ring they might have a solution to your problem. . Michael Scotland
I was thinking that if I take off the rubber pad I would be left with a v shape on the end of stock .If I was to cut this square and do the same with the pad I would loose approx 2 1/2 inches .then if this is to much i could put back a shim .I have to cut so much because of the shape of it . There must be a gun Smith or someone who can give me advice . The only thing I am not sure of is how this will affect the screws holding butt on as I am not sure how long they are or if they go right through to the gun itself Edited October 5, 2017 by Michael Scotland

TIGHTCHOKE
Michael, I am sure you cannot be the only person to suffer this problem. I have an early Escort before they put the odd shaped butt pad on them. Good luck in solving it.

TIGHTCHOKE
I wonder if you might be able to find someone with an older stock and swap them over, I have had mine for years since new and it is a wonderful weapon for the price. Good luck Not trying to be a smart **** but I'm sure the later escorts also had shims between the recoil pad and the stock to adjust the lop, a mate had to take them out Yes they do, although they are really just spacers not shims I think you could fit about 3 if you were built like a gorilla!
