Longstrider
Hells bells Google maps is detailed ! The farmer on one of my permissions likes to check his land on Google maps to see what's growing where etc etc and came across something he didn't expect to see at all. Zooming in on one of my favourite crow-bashing spots you can not only see my car in the field, (I moved it away before shooting) but me setting out the pattern, and even the crow decoys ! The picture was taken last Spring when I was doing the right thing to a hell of a lot of rooks and jackdaws on the freshly drilled wheat, but the detail of it is very surprising. It does show nicely what the pattern looks like from above though
aga man
Google maps is a great tool for the pigeon shooter. I have just recently gained another thousand acres and the field maps given to me by the farm manager are photo copied and pretty poor. The maps off google are very clear and I now know where I need to be this winter.

aga man
How do you Google map a farmers land then? All I do is use aa routeplanner or similar, plan a route to said area of farmland, then click on the satellite button in the top left corner of the map of your route. Then simply zoom in. walshie
Google maps is so out of date in these parts, you could be looking at a field of barley on google but in fact there is a 1960s block of flats there now.

ShropshireSam
I use google maps to consider options of where to site hides when going on a new field. You can measure distance to any roads and houses and get an idea of potential flightlines.

toxo
Some of you might like this. Map your perms, drop pins for various such as where stands, sightings warrens and lots more. If you shoot with a friend it shows where your buddy is. Goes on the PC, tablet phone. http://www.huntstand.com/
