Cawdor118
I have been using Tetra action Degreaser at £10 a tin... Can anyone tell me if there are any downsides to just using brake cleaner at £3 a tin? Is it the same thing rebranded for guns?
johnnytheboy
Never seen the action degreaser but used loads of brake cleaner! It’s great stuff, folk who don’t know what brake cleaner is look at you with horror when you tell them you use it!
Pigeon Shredder.
Brake cleaner is by far the best degreaser £ for £. That and a can of GT85 for lubricant and protection. Both beat all of your "Gun Products" hands down for a quarter of the price.
Westward
Silly question perhaps but which kind of action needs degreasing?
Robertt
I use lighter fluid. Does a great job on the semi auto and my multiplyer fishing reel bearings.
Wingman
Buy bottles of pure acetone from a beauty supply shop about 10 quid a litre. The best degreaser you can get!

Umm, yer ok. I better stop the wife using it to remover the nail varnish. Better stop using brake cleaner as well then. I use the stuff by the gallon when degreasing rifles, and better stop using when cleaning up after using fibreglass. Everything is dangerous if used incorrectly. Could not agree more that any product/item is dangerous when used incorrectly, blimey l bet we could start another forum item on that!
