That’s what I was thinking, it took 5 shots at close range to kill the squirrel, mind a head shot might have helped.

Ultrastu
Body shots probably .to the stomach ? wont kill owt quickly . Ive dropped squirrles as clean as a whistle with a head shot with only around 4 fpe . So its not the energy thats the problem
Ultrastu
What that article demonstrates is that if the rspca get involved they will push very hard for a prosecution . On the grounds of making the animal suffer and failing to dispatch the animal humanely . Some thing we should all be aware of when decoying or game shooting . How much time is it deemed allowed to pass between shooting a pricked bird and dispatching it .?? I guess that depends on the persons resolve to end any suffering as quickly as possible .(going out shopping for 3 hours between shots isnt really taking the matter seriously ) One of the reasons i shoot with a dog. Especially over standing crops and cover .then i can say ive done all i can to be humane in my pest control .
