Right...............Hemp........

i was told that it is grown for the car manufacturing industry.........a company processes it and some sort of high temperature plastic is made from it for the inside of cars and stuff.....

can anyone confirm that ??

( i do know specialist ropes are woven from hemp...but that would only account for a very small acreage)...a fair ammont of hemp is grown ...but you dont see it ...as it is grown well away from roads so muppets cant see it and try to smoke it.....its a different variety anyway...

Probably the most versatile plant on the planet.

Only outlawed by the logging companies of North America etc as it was a competitive product to wood. the fact it is super sustainable, top trumps the price for wood.

I have never had much luck on fields with hemp, at any time of the cropping, but I have also never had much luck over linseed and some people gets good bags of this crop.

Its probably worth keeping an eye on, but don't bother setting up unless you see birds showing real interest.

used to use hemp twine for making purse nets years ago .it was good to know that unlike nylon nets if you lost a hemp net it would rot away  ,,,several years ago there were 100s of acres of opium poppies grown in Hampshire..i believe the by product was oil for the paint trade and seed for the baking industry,  often wondered if anyone tried to get the latex from them

Shot over Hemp many years ago when pigeon magnets were first introduced, made my own and set up on a cut hemp field sharing the hide with another club gun.

We didnt get a huge bag but there were some birds interested in it.

But it was an eye opener as to how far my magnet pulled the birds from their line being a couple of hundred mtrs away  over the farm road, house and barns.

A few of the other club members turned up as they had found nothing in their located areas and stood up field on the road laughing at my magnet as it did its whirling job .

Long story short the magnet gave us some good exciting shots over the hemp , a respectable bag on a not so good a day for every one else of the club members .

Ohh and the job of making 4 more magnets for members .

You never know till you look and  try.
