There is of a big difference between racism and a general sense of loss through witnessing the erosion of a culture one has known since birth, due to an influx of large numbers of people with a completely different cultural and/or religious heritage. It's not about exact percentages or detailed stats and it's not about colour either. It's about funding and dealing with the pressures from a rapid increase in the population and the resulting vast increase in demand for all kinds of services and facilities often from people who are a net drain on the economy.

Here in Britain we've accepted immigrants for hundreds of years, heck we're probably all descended from immigrants, but never in history have we had to accept the enormous numbers we've been coping with over the last 15 -20 years. I would take an educated guess that more people have migrated to this country in the last 10 years than over the whole of the previous 1,000 years.

It's not about being anti foreigner, it's about both the numbers and that fact that so many immigrants have no wish to integrate.  Instead they bring their own societal values and demand that we accept them and their culture and then expect all our societal values and culture be made available to them. In other words they are here purely for what they can get out of this country.

The liberal elite and the champagne socialists like Blair or Corbyn or the BBC can bang on all they like about how wonderful it is that Britain today is a multicultural society, but what they ignore is that it's been forced on us, whether we wanted it or not, by successive governments and of course that great bastion of democracy (Not!) the EU.

One of the best posts ever on this subject, on this site! Excellent!

You mean born outside of the country ?

Quite possible, here's one for you ,pick a group , for example Pakistani, that means of Pakistani heritage either born there or born here, how many of that group do you think there are in London..and in the whole of the UK? Don't Google it just yet, estimate it first then check.

The answer (to me anyway) sounds rather unbelievable.

Probably in excess of 100,000?  In the UK, possibly 800,00?

What data can I use then? The data you got from just seeing different people from yourself on the streets? Not exactly academic research. I did not make any assumptions, I used the figures available to me rather than something someone saw so it must be true.

Using your 200K net migration/year and the majority staying in London, say 110K/year x 7 years for legals thats over 3/4 M people, where do they live? How many new builds have there been in London in 7 years? I`m sure I don`t know and they need to have proper addresses as they are legals! Your first "fact" link does not help you either it says we cannot be sure how many irregular residents are here and uses and estimation (not a fact) from 2007 which if my maths is right is before 2011which makes your fact not a fact as there is no basis for it.

Second link is not much better "A Home Office spokeswoman said: "We do not recognise the estimate provided by Migration Watch UK. By its very nature, it is not possible to estimate with any confidence the size of the illegal population."

The final one is also shot down as it uses the figures from the first and is refuted by the home office above, so all in all no real numbers anywhere to be seen as you won`t allow official stats to be used and rely on possibles and maybes from a political or socially right wing leaning website!

Over the last 20 years, as "official" figures have finally been made public, it shows that Migration Watch were far more accurate than the Home Office, and were even an under-estimate!

The figure I have seen suggested 1.5 million

And I am willing to bet my pension you are very close to the truth, at that! Not many in Perthshire, though!
