Esca
I have 12,16,20,28. I like the all of them but the 28 is my favorite light to carry in both gun and cartridges (21grm or 23grm). I believe I am sensible and will only take game at a max of 35 yards, no matter which of which gun have taken out. It is as always about shooting within your limits. P. S my 28 is a Lincoln at great gun.

hawkfanz
people will allways disagree on this i myself have 3 x12g and 3 x 20g,,i only use 0ne 12 on crows a300 sa,my favorite of all is my lanber o/u 20g,sweet as a nut to shoot,i can hold my own against 12g users, but dont wildfowl these days so no need for big stuff, currently useing homeloaded 24g no6,sold my 28g and replaced it with o/u hushpower 20g,purely for a noise reduction exercise. Townie
Chap I know who shoots a 12, 20 and 28 tells me he gets almost no runners with the 28 as he either kills cleanly or misses with it.
Ultrastu
.410 is a lot like that. As i tend to keep the range to about 25 yds, Where the pattern is still dense . Its either miss clean or kill clean .
