I have owned the HW100 and my shooting buddy owned the S16 both shrouded and non-shrouded.... If you can put the extra into it then its the HW every time without hesitation.... quality engineering using probably the best magazine system in operation in any multishot rifle.......

There are lots of faults with the Logun's... magazine jamming, air leaks... the only downside to any Weihrauch rifle is ...

everybody - after 3 .... 1-2-3

The weight.... they are heavy, but they are bullet proof :)

Personally the wacker 100 for me, simply because the S16 has had jamming probs and its so heavy!

Can't believe that someone said the wacker was heavy, the S16 is rediculously cumbersome at 8.5lbs!!

Nothing wrong with Logun, especially the solo which is a cracking rifle, unfortunately it is succeptable to air rifle snobbery.

it isnt snobbery puts me of logun but the fact i believe a maker that sells his own product will put more effort into it than one that sells to companies to be sold under another name.fx in sweden i think make the axsor and gemini and is the solo not made in poland? all made to a budget im sure

Each have their admirers, i think that you will find more people liking the HW100 than the S16

PO3 however cant reccomend his Logun S16 enough, we were talking about it at Bisley, then he laughed at my airgun  B)

Then you will find people that cannot reccomend the HW100 enough, basically its totally down to personal choice.

It`ll be down to personal choice in the end. If you can handle them either at a club or gunshop then whatever "feels" the best should be your choice. I would imagine the HW would be hard to walk past. Very popular and from a company that have a reputation for building a solid, reliable product. The Logun has it`s detracters but likewise i`ve read reviewers rave on about the accuracy, shot count etc. Remember other marques like Daystate, Falcon, BSA. They`re not too shaby either  Good luck on your choice.

I have owned a Logun S16 and have tried the HW100. The logun is a good rifle. Accurate, fast cocking system, lots of shots, robust, cheap secondhand. It's problems are: it's very heavy and not too comfortable to shoot, the cocking mechanism doesn't suffer fools gladly (you have to cock it the way it says in the manual), the magazines need regular greasing and it gets all over your fingers. The HW100 is a great rifle and feels much better to hold and shoot. BUT read the reviews at the reviewcentre.com and you will see it's not without it's faults. The latest model is best and it is cracking in carbine length - all the benefits but in a lighter package! Shots per charge are a bit low but shouldn't be a problem in reality. So, if money is an issue get an S16 and you will grow to love it. If you can afford the extra, get the HW100 karbine. If you can afford a bit more.... get a Daystate!!

S16S New MK2 Is the muts nuts a little heavy but great shot count and a very accurate rifle IMHO and I have had both and they are great rifles although a little heavy that is the only problem I have had and as far as jamming is concerned learn to ues it looooooooooser B) . Never had a problem with jamming must be a Newbie Problem or a looser problem  . If you can handle the weight then this is the rifle to have IMHO great shot count and accurate (weight related)

Cant comment on the s16 as i havnt owned one but i did use to own a hw100 in .22. it was whisper quiet and the magazines are very slick. Only downside for me was the weight.

Just to add a lad at the club i used to shoot at had a mk1 s16 and had many problems with it mainly due to faulty seals although the mk2 is supposed to be better..

If you can use a bolt properly then there's no problem with a s16, if you do jam it you will only do it the once and takes less that 5 minutes to replace the o'ring.

It might be heavy but you can use a sling, after a couple of trips you get used to it anyway and for the shots you get it's a small price to pay.

If you don't want to faff around with bottles or pumps then pay a quid and get it filled up from a shop and your good for around 225 shots.

i would say the hw100 is the better one i havent shot any of them. but all the people i no who has the hw100

said its the best rifle they have ever had. and they have had rapids etc etc ...

Can of worms there mate.

Rapids are a slightly different territory altogether and where my money would be if I had that kind of money to blow on an air rifle :whistling:

horses for courses, I have had an hw 100, lovely gun accurate, magazine is superb and unlike the s16 as probably already stated you can ONLY load one pellet, in truth I would still have had it but as ALL I used airguns for was bunnies, and I felt fac was the way to go re air and hunting , the hw100 was not really the tool 12 lb yes but fac no, so I ended up with two rapids, and lets just say that unless I give up shooting! they will not be sold.

cheers KW
