Big Al
The storm on Saturday was great for the pheasants but was good for pigeons. Time for a mini roost shoot! I've also added a bit of cookery after a request from a YouTube subscriber.

Cranfield
Roost shooting can be great fun, if you are in the right place. Nice shooting and good dog work again. When I have had trouble finding my way out, especially in fog on the marsh, I have found following the dog works.🙂

I soon figured that if I walked close to the water (Lough Neagh again!) and kept it on my right I'd be fine! London Best
Roost shooting was the first shotgun bird shooting Dad took me out on sixty years ago. It has been one of my favourites ever since. I much prefer it to decoying.
greylag
Great way to spend a few hours.Good shooting ,and dog work, you would have a job finding those birds without a dog.,and what better way to end the day than a tray full of lovely sausage rolls.I do the same with Canada geese and we a bit of spiced sausage meat(I say I but truth be known it's my better half that concocts.) S Cheers- my favourite type of shooting is wildfowling but roosting pigeons is a close second! 2 hours ago, London Best said: Roost shooting was the first shotgun bird shooting Dad took me out on sixty years ago. I'm a more recent convert - about 30 years ago but I really do enjoy it. 1 hour ago, greylag said: Great way to spend a few hours.Good shooting ,and dog work, you would have a job finding those birds without a dog.,and what better way to end the day than a tray full of lovely sausage rolls.I do the same with Canada geese and we a bit of spiced sausage meat(I say I but truth be known it's my better half that concocts.) You have her well trained! Definitely my job in our house to prepare and cook game - but wife and kids are more than happy to eat the dishes!
