Ricko
Hi, does anyone recognize this item? It is some sort of right angle gearbox with a PTO fitting on one end and a flange on the other. It looked useful so I thought I'd free it off and use it for something.

wisdom
Looks like or is very similar to a reduction box that used to drive the muck belt under battery hen cages.Spline coupled to a motor output to a belt drive.
wyn
The splines look like they are for 1000rpm.

Ricko
I've just been reading up about the different PTO shafts, hasn't realised about the different speeds.
McSpredder
Fairly big item, comparing it to the bricks and the stool (and assuming the stool is intended for a backside of normal dimensioons). The size and the 1000rpm shaft suggest it is transmiting a lot of power, pehaps for something like a rotavator.
dodgy dave
looks to me like it is off a topper just needs the blades bolted on the round
Stour-boy
Looks like a steering box. what are the Numbers and letters on the casing ? the splines and groove for a bolt are the same as steering boxes have to attach the collumn S. B.
Ricko
Here's a couple of shots of the numbers on it, I'm going to have a Google of them in a moment.
