royden
So if this goes through before the end of the Brexit transition the planned five year phase out of lead shot in the UK will mean nothing.?

That makes for awful reading. So you get some officious person and you can be prosecuted for carrying lead ammo if it rains regardless of if you intended using it. Rob85
After January can these laws not be declared null and void? We already have our own 5 year transition proposal.Unless this is seen by the EU as a way of selling a lot more European cartridges that the likes of the Danes use to us in the UK after brexit as we fire a hell of a lot more shots than they do with our driven shoots. Dont mistske this as an evironmental law, the EU is driven by nothing else but money. Personally if I was the government I would see it as a no brainer to tell them to kindly and in the nicest possible way to eff off and we will stick with our own voluntary transition. It depends on whether we decide / have to to tie our environmental legislation to the EU's, as part of the terms of a trade deal. If that's the case and we revoke it (should it already be part of UK law at that point) then we would be in breach of the terms of the trade deal (if we have one). In a way though, it's by the by, because if we are exporting game to the EU, at that point they wont want lead in it anyway - and they are our biggest market. Dammed if we do, and dammed if we dont. PeterHenry
Just now, cardigun said: I think this was a Labour amendment, that failed .? No, this is an entirely seperate process from the EU - nothing to do with the Labour party.
