We have pretty much done the same but, split our office over 2 sites so we only have 4 people in a large open plan office. Warehouse is completely separate as are drivers and we have been lucky so far with no cases.  From what I can see we move goods from auctions all over the country and most are working still.  Closed to the public we book collections and they open up and put the goods in an open area for us to collect.
Since the initial shutdown when we closed we have been working ever since keeping 25 people off furlough.  However it’s feeling closer at the moment, one auctioneer lost a 35 year old staff member to it at Christmas who we knew well.  That was a reminder of the dice rolls as he was healthy.

I can assure you that whatever your business has done and or spent to battle Covid we have done more. Following on, being preached to by know all’s on here who no nothing about my businesses operation is just part of the moronic pitchfork waving that goes with Covid.

Apart from the UV air ionisers, Perspex screens and touch less toilet refurb, we’ve spent £1k this month on medical grade Covid testing kits.

And all the while, no laws broken etc.

Oh do pack in the sanctimonious clap trap.

There are some businesses that still have to function and are allowed to function and that’s us.

Really?

Let's word it differently,  half of the office staff have now been electrocuted by the kettle at work? But no ones been badly hurt so it's ok, I doubt you would put up with that.

There is always that chance any of us can catch this thing but the idea of being put in a position at work where half the staff have caught it, someone should be asking some serious questions.

That analogy is patently ridiculous. Have you got a better one?

If you think everyone should be at home with the door nailed shut, that’s your view. Alas, however, a lot of us have a job to do nonetheless.

I don't think everyone should be at home, I've worked throughout,  so has my brother,  his mrs and lots and lots of other people,  I'm just surprised you can think that half the office having caught covid is no big deal.

I also know lots of people who are working from home as that was deemed best for them and the businesses in the current situation.

I would guess in Essex that somewhere between 33% and 50% of people have had it now / been previously exposed to it and have immunity. This is from what I see around me - the office next door (separate building, different business and people we have nothing to do with) all got it. All the staff at our local bank (6 out of 7 all got it within 2 days of each other).

No it doesn’t surprise me that after a year half the office have had it. After all, they’re not kettles - they have kids at school, they have to go shopping and their lives go on. And not that long ago they were encouraged to eat out to help out (etc).

As somebody else who is slap bang in the middle of supposedly the worse area for infections in the country I would concur with that estimate.

Personally speaking my daughter and her BF, Brother & his family and best mate from school & his family have all had it. Best mate had it worse of all by the sound of things. Fortunately the only COVID death of anyone known personally to me remains a 66yo diabetic in Kenya.

I remain dismayed at the number of self appointed COVID Police on social media spouting judgemental BS about everyone else. The latest torrent came from an associate who previously started all his FB rants with "I'm not racist but..."  who has now taken to stating "I'm not in favour of Marshall law but..." then goes on to propose the Army be deployed on the streets to support Police enforcement. Somewhere down the line this is all gonna come back and bite him, and I hope everyone of his ilk, on the backside.

I had a knock at the door today by the covid police 🙈. I’ve had a warning about having my girlfriend stop ??? I said she’s my bubble and we went through it all for them to say I’m doing nothing wrong at all 🤷🏻‍♂️
on New Year’s Eve I was stood in the street with the kids and sparklers and I had the police pull up and ask me if I was breaking into cars 🙈. I can’t win

Blimey. Sounds like bad form on their part both times but at least it's all been cleared up now. Are you suspecting your neighbours on the girlfriend issue or?

It’s a long on going issue. I was arrested 11 months ago by armed police in my house after a false allegation (my wife was having an affair with a fellow copper)

I was stopped walking home from town 2 months later and harassed and threatened by them .

ive never been in trouble in my life but my Fac is up for review soon so I’m not looking forward to it

Totally agree. It gives me great pleasure to go out my way to annoy people such as those; finger waggers and curtain twitchers too.
My message to all is to get on with your own life and don’t even think about interfering in mine.
