Good. By this time tomorrow "Injury lawyers for scum" will be representing the tattooed mother of one who will say

" he want a bad un rilly, `e jus got in wiv da rong crowd. E loved pit bulls an a bit o ectasy but since is dad left its a struggle on incum sport".

The police officer who made the difficult choice and pulled the trigger will be off on full pay, despite his willingness to return to work, while elf n safety investigate at a cost ot the public of £250,000. The funeral will be attended by the PM and Ms Beckett and knock the Mcanns off the front page for a day.

Ken livingstone will invite the family to London and award them with a freedom of congestion charge medal. Brussels will implement a law stating that in future police officers should attempt to disarm gun toting scum with a penguin and some cuddly toys and the law will be passed.

Probably, but if Carlsberg made armed robberies they would all end this way. Hats off to our police, they get a lot of stick and I for one would hate to have been in the position those officers were faced with today.

Two down, onwards and upwards

Worrying thing is, was listening to R4 as the story broke, the Police complaints commission were immediately involved. Now I have it on good authority this is standard procedure, and whilst I completely agree there should be an independent investigation each and every time someone is shot, why (pardon the pun) shoot yourself in the foot and use the word "complaints" in the title?

Keep the process the very same, change not one bit, but call it something a little less accusatory? Or is it just me?

It may be that its an effort to get in there first, if they deal with it as a complaint then it may stop the families wanting to go through the complaints procedure.

Gun use is becoming too frequent. I was talking to someone the other day who had been to the Bishops Stortford shooting where the two men were killed and the women injured. Those guys even put two bullets into the guys Staffie obviously badly as they just paralysed the back end and it had to be put down later on. Its a pretty frightening world and the police must never know quite what lengths people will go to in an effort to get away
