jamesleee123
Hi fellas I've been offered either a 97k in beech .177 just the rifle or a 97kt synthetic in .22 with weihrauch moderator bag and pellets for same price. Both rifles are in great condition and will be used for occasional short range pest control 20m max. Any advice as always appreciated. zipdog
Max 20m I would go with the 22. If you ever fancy poking out a bit further the 177 is the one to have. I have a 97k 177 in beach for reference.
jamesleee123
Thanks Zipdog, I should have mentioned I've got 2 .177 pops for target work, just wanted a dedicated vermin rifle. Cheers
sam triple
Was looking for a 97 myself

Fisheruk
I have a 97k, beech in 22. Had it f years, never misses a beat. 25m no problem, wouldn’t really trust myself with a springer past that distance in the field
jamesleee123
I've shot squirrels and the odd rat in the garden with the pcps no problem, but if I want to go shoot targets I have to faff about re-zeroing, so I wanted a rifle I could grab when a bushy tail raids the bird feeder. Chaz25
I would go with the synthetic in 22 myself, plastic's are super tough and I just like to flick fatter lead down range.
oldypigeonpopper
Hello, good rifles as long as you don't mind the weight, 22 for that range,

I have a .22 bsa lightening handy for exactly this reason . It carries hobbys in a pouch on the stock and is my go to gun for when I spot a bushy tail in my garden . The pcps are great but I often need to react quickly and loading a mag isn't.
jamesleee123
Think its the .22 then!
jamesleee123
Well after debating a .22 or 177 and deciding on the 22 the fella had only gone and sold it a couple of hours before I contacted him. Oh well keep trying.
