Walker570
Other than a friend then £35 would be cheap. Have a look on Google, Lakeland etc and see what one would cost. That is a very nice block.
mel b3
It's worth every penny of £50.00 , but for a friend of the family , I would probably charge £25.00 . If they know their stuff , they'll be more than happy at that price.

boo
You think that's big mel ! A future project, just on a 3ft square 3 1/2 inch thick ,all end grain! Thinking of making a butchers block table ! First need a purpose built router sled to tidy up surfaces ......
Scully
Nice work. 👍 Whenever we put in a kitchen work surface there was always a scramble for any ‘extras’. I have a very nice 15” x 15” x 2” chopping block/ bread board I managed to ‘rescue’ from one such job.

Morkin
That looks top job mate ,I know it's been said but it's worth every bit of 50 quid and if you know them that well 30_35 for a top job should be happy.
boo
Cheers Nathan, be a while yet ! Having bandsaw madness at the moment, been resawing logs , getting some nice pieces stacked up & drying..
boo
So its raining again , so out of one table top I quartered it , as in the other block , so to make a full on end grain block , flattened both sides , marked cuts on the flats , ran through table saw , flipped over gives me endgrain boards , 1 1/2 thick , so doubled output ! Need edges planing& gluing up , hopefully make a couple of decent chopping boards , so potentially 8 decent boards out of one slab !
boo
Come up ok , needed fair bit of sanding, lesson learnt , pay more attention to block layout for patterning ! Nephew & niece getting one apiece....
