edge007
Hey guys, Does anybody know much about these? I have been given one because the guy cant fathem the power curve out. I had it working sweet yesterday, but then it lost power. It looks probably like one of the first ones. It's in 0.25. I've adjusted the top hat and that did have some effect on it. If anyone could help , I could send pictures of the internals. Maybe a seal missing somewhere? I've looked on the web but all the internals on the exploded diagrams seem to be different. Chaz25
I have one what do you want to know? Is the valve body brass or steel? Edited July 24, 2021 by Chaz25
rovercoupe
There is not much to them, if the seals are good on the gun then the bottle valve might be causing it to go funny but I would just expect it to leak. They come apart easy and I think there is only a couple of seals on the gun itself. if you don’t get anywhere with it I think I still have a .22 barrel here if you wanted to try it with that and see if it flattens out the power. Velocette
Its difficult to get power consistency without some modifications. Is it running at FAC power levels ? If so then the best results can be achieved with a much heavier hammer and spring to match. The original plastic type need too much spring pressure to open the valve consistently. They also tend to hang up/grab a little on the barrel. I had "Leupey" ? make me a 21" barrel, that was much thicker than standard, new bushes and hammer together with some valve work and it ran at 28 ft/lbs for about 50 shots. This, together with a 10" AWT over barrel silencer made an effective and interesting rabbit gun. If you Google Stealth for sale I think my gun still appears there ! Hello, I think it's the valve. Well I'm 99% sure it is. Dont suppose you know where I could buy one from do you?
Chaz25
There should be a valve stem sticking out the top unless you have already striped the valve? Ok you have the phase 1 valve body two things tend to happen one the valve stem gets hammered into the delrin seal closing up the transfer port next the top hat keeps moving so the opening time go's to hell making them inconsistent' got pictures of the other parts? Also dose it have grub screws on the left side of the main frame? past the "upper handle" towards the muzzle basically extra screws for the barrel rings. rovercoupe
Sorry valves seem hard to find these days, looking at the bottle valve if you have not had it apart then it looks like it could have been apart before or an attempt has been made to get it apart so best bet might be if you can get the valve out before buying a new valve and then finding it’s stuck! If it won’t come apart it might be easier to get a new bottle and valve given if it’s a early model the bottle will be quite old anyway. Chaz25
Interesting the phase one valves are quite different from my phase 2, mine has a brass valve body that screws in from the front, the stem on mine is threaded on the front so the top hat is screwed on and secured by tiny cross drilled grub screws, the delrin valve seals on the valve body itself and as well as the valve body seal I have one in the top hat and one for the stem. The white bit would be the stem body? if you look at both ends one side will show an imprint of where the delrin valve has been seating. also I got all my seals from Gunpower. Fitted the new valve, new spring, and new hammer that I bought on PCP tunes advice for the mk1 stealth. £160 later fitted but rifle started to fire on it's own. I took it to a specialist, who checked what I had bought. The hammer was 10g lighter than what it was advertised and longer than it should of been which was the reason the gun was going off on it's own. , the spring was weak, but the valve was ok. The rifle is now bang on and running 35 foot pound. A new stronger spring and hammer fitted. I am now very happy !! Not christened it yet but I'll let you know what I find out in the field. Think there around 40fp at full power so that's none too shabby, mine puts out a mind bending 11.8 with a 20 grn pellet doing about 500 😄 so would love to know what yours will drive down range!
