Dazv
Hi guys after a bit of advice, now that I’m able to get into more deer I would like to mince a fair bit of the venison. I’ve got a cheap hand grinder that is rubbish. It got me thinking are the any other differences between hand and electric mincers other than a motor instead of hand crank? I’ve got a fair few electric motors and gearboxes and am pretty handy with a lathe so wouldn’t be hard adapt it to be electric. So my question is do you guys think it’s worth me doing or will the cheap hand grinder still be **** even when powered by a powerful motor? thanks a lot guys darren
bigroomboy
If it doesn't work well hand turned it will probably work worse with a motor. If its just a case of too much effort then it may work. Check out https://www.weschenfelder.co.uk/

Are the blades in correctly? Is the meat warm or cold that you are using? My hand mincer works a treat with meat very cold partly frozen. Mickeydredd
I have a Tritacarne, not cheap but is a great piece of kit and I usually take around 10-12kg of meat for mince off a Red which it processes very efficiently.
