redial
Just considering a open sights plinker. Had a look at the 300 and 400. Quite a lot of difference price wise. Any thoughts please. Thanks.
oldypigeonpopper
Hello, never tried one but they look ok for the money, seems little difference between the two, have you thought of a HW 99 ?
redial
Thanks, I will take a look at the HW 99. I remember some issues with the springs sometime ago but I would think that wouldn't be problem now on a new purchase.
stu64
I have a cometa fenix 400s,very good gun. Trigger is excellent when adjusted right. I just have to get into springer mode when using it, it's very accurate. A few reviews on YouTube, but not always done by people that can shoot a spring gun. Jega
I had the 300 a few years ago.As with pretty much all springers they are built to a budget and not a standard . If you are happy to do a little bit of fettling, deburring, polishing the internals and trigger along with a dollop of decent lube on the spring, then they are a good durable accurate little rifle. To be honest mate much of the above will also apply to a HW99 out of the box as well.

Chaz25
I had an older Cometa years ago, fair quality worth owning, they shoot well.
rovercoupe
Had a 300 and 400 they are worlds apart sold the 300 and still have the 400, says it all really! If you can find a second hand 400 the price can attractive and are as good as the German equivalent. Same with some of the dianas could not sell a 38 for £130 but now glad it did not sell as it’s a cracking gun.
sportsbob
I like the 400 it can be tuned into a really sweet shooting accurate rifle, the 300 is quite basic.
