henry d
Although the weather hasn't played ball this year, including our toothy fish competition, when it did it was awesome! Pollock to just under double figures, my wife out fishing the rest of the boat (we stopped counting after the 20th codling came aboard), hopeful signs of a Cod comeback, and more herring than you can shake a stick at. Not my vessel 😁 Texas rigged jellyworm, one of about 8, all but one that was deep hooked returned Micro codling revival. Were in pest proportions at times. Silver darlings from the kayak. On the kayak I've also had decent pollock to around 5-6lb, lots of codling, coalfish, pout and of all things a grey Gurnard, which for the NE coast is pretty rare. Hopefully the easterly winds will stop and the lunkers will move inshore, Tight lines everyone!

That's some good fishing you've had.

That's some good fishing you've had. I sometimes go from the hole in the wall and fish either in line and a couple hundred yards south of the N pier or further out on the reefs or wrecks. It's certainly a decent year for cod numbers but size is a little small, 2-3lb but the pollock have been really good and hopefully they will have packed on plenty of weight from the large number of sandeel and herring
