ShootingEgg
I've been getting chest pains on my right side and I mean on the side of my body, just to the right of the moob and then down just under ribs. Dr has prescribed me omeprazole for a month. Hoping it's just that work is a bit rubbish at moment and been burning it at both ends recently... As some of the things above aren't to fun sounding. Also don't want this to be anything more serious..

Avoid. Cheese/Pizza/Curry/anything oily as an evening meal - I'm OK if its before 7pm after that I'll get reflux. Desserts with a lot of cream eaten late in the evening are also an issue (hopelessly sweet tooth). Ill add to this, been on Omeprazole since they banned Ranitidine (But thats another story) No side effects to mention. Coffee, an alkaloid which seems to make me produce excess acid, and urination ! Butter. The king of acid producers , fresh orange juice, I can feel it coming in minutes , other fruit juices do it , but orange juice is the worst. Also anything that has acidity regulators in it , various pop, some beers, cider is horrific. Not sure of the correlation , and it doesnt stop me having any of these , but I tend to pop the pill before I do. Onion Some grains, porridge oats. Milk , relieves the symptoms , but causes further acidification ? Weirdly , ice cream doesnt bother me. Cooked tinned tomatos, again I suspect acidity regulators. Dont take it every day , and I dont have it prescribed, but it makes life a bit easier. If caught in the wild Extra chewing gum deals with it too, your minty saliva is mildy alkaline. Houseplant
The lifestyle change that got rid of my gastric reflux was losing weight and sadly, that's the hardest thing to do. I've also pretty much had to give up on whisky re: oesophagitis. From a diet point of view, pastries were the worst for me. Getting old sucks! Although I did watch this I'm still a youngster and have no clue as to why they think I need it, I'm just going by what they have diagnosed and taking one a day for a month. Hoping it sorts the issue and I'm off them.
