Am I sad ?

To be honest I enjoy preparing vegetables for our dinner, am I sad?

Swede and potatoes in the bottom of the pressure cooker to mash together. Carrots and Brussels in the top. I have put potatoes and parsnips in a pan on top of the multifuel burner to soften them before roasting. This lot should last us three days 😋

Meant to say these vegetables were bought before Christmas, they have saved well.

There is something satisfying about putting food on the table. I like you like preparing a meal.

When I used to do a lot of sea fishing there was nothing more pleasing than preparing the catch. Whiting, pouting, dogfish, gurnard, rockling, if it was big enough I ate it.

I can remember asking canteen staff in work can I have this and that on the same plate, and her reply was as long as you enjoy it why not. I used to have some weird concoctions.

At home I open the fridge / freezer door and turn whatever is there into a meal. You can make some really tasty stuff in a wok.

Yes you are sad, prepping veggies when you could be decking, and making that devilish crud called gravy.

P.S.  Happy new year.

No not wronged me, i just hate to see good food swimming in gravy, sauce etc. if i buy a decent steak i dont cover it in gravy etc. in my eyes you are just disgusing the taste of the food. And one thing i wont touch is ketchup, you see mothers covering there childs food in that disgusting stuff, just to get them to eat there chicken nuggets, bet they dont know what chicken tastes like. But Ditchy, each to there own, as long as you enjoy it :good:

Yes, you are sad,,,, you keep putting up pictures of prepped and cooked food, while neglecting the decking task you've been appointed to complete at your daughter's house 😲🙈😂🤣

Been doing it but had to tap out one of the posts that came "untapped" that slowed the job up. 🙄🙄 I will take some photos next time I go 😉

are you of an age to remember "Pan-yan pickle"....?

Yes, and spangles, aztecs, gypsy creams, arrowroot biscuits, camp coffee, fussells tinned milk  that you stood a spoon up in , carnation evaporated milk , jam roly poly in a tin 😍
