As stated S&B, that looks like a PMII? v-max
GOOD video link stuartp the AI are exelent rifle's but heavy loved the barrel change. The scope's i seen were that of S&B 3X12X50PMII on the 7.62nato cant remember the 338.These rifle's are also very good or designed to soak up the recoil as there is very little but the are quite heavy too.Would love to have the fund's/ground etc to have one but not sure fit cal i would go for. Baldrick
If I recall correctly, the early L96s that we used were topped with Hensoldt 10 x 42s, subsequently Habicht 10 x 40s. The L96 is a very solid and impressive weapon, and in the right hands it is extraordinarily capable. Personally I preferred its predecessor, the Parker Hale.
