Well that is dead spooky 👻 because I am having fried potatoes (left from yesterday) fried eggs, possibly bacon 🥓 but all lathered in beans. No black pudding but I would if I had any 😋😋😋😋😋

Change of plan fried potatoes, sausages, fried eggs and lathered in baked beans. Not placed, gordon blue, or messed about with, just lathered in beans 😉😉😉👍👍👍😋😋😋

A fine fry up that. Good looking bacon 'n all.

i was quite surprised with the bacon...got it from the co-op....i spoke to the manager and he said they had been getting loads of complaints about the thiness of the bacon and the bloody water in it......

this bacan was thick cut and i didnt need oil to fry it...(no water)

Manager of our local Co-op came running over to me this morning and told me they had some Bacon that was obviously for me, but then apologised as he realised it actually said "cut".

Wow I thought it would have been from the butcher. That sound like good bacon, I was once told many producers inject it with water brine which puts the weight up, how true that is I do not know. Nothing worse than bacon that spits water and shrinks to a third of the size.

Was it back bacon? Unsmoked my favourite.

Nice and thick, good meat to fat ratio and I bet no shrinkage.

Lovely stuff!

you could actually get away with 2 slices for a bacon&egg sarni....but there is 6 in a pack....so what the hell i will go 3..:lol:

Too bloody right!

Push the boat out I say.

I like to make a treble bacon sandwich with 3 pieces of toast and 6 rashers, occassionaly I treat myself and use white bread in place of brown, the white bungs me up something rotten but worth the strain every couple of months. :lol:

When doing a recent 'online shop', there was a 50% off offer on a Premium traditionally drycured no added water style bacon - the un-smoked streaky being the subject of the offer.  I ordered some to try.

Today, I cooked some and this was the result (with a few mushrooms and Branston beans);

The bacon cooked nicely in the pan with no extra fat added, but despite being streaky, didn't give out enough fat to cook the mushrooms.  There was absolutely no water or 'white stuff' at all.  None.  There was  also very little shrinkage.  Very promising.

On eating, I should say that I normally prefer smoked, but that wasn't on offer and so is expensive.  This was nice bacon, but quite mild and had I paid full price I would have been slightly disappointed.  As it was, I will enjoy finishing the pack, and look out for an offer on the smoked versions.  I don't see myself buying this version at full price.

Sounds good stuff, I hate bacon when it gives off a pan full of "spunk"
