Well this is interesting, my motorcycle insurance is due April and the renewal arrives (email) so before opening I had a little guess as how much it would be. £89.49 last year, this year £74.57. The question whys motorcycle insurance gone down?

I’ve just priced my new bike and it’s gone £150 to £500/800 . Gutted . I’m hoping to pick it up next month .

I’m wondering if premiums have gone up partly because of used car values having increased so much. I got a quote today for my car and it showed the value as over £5,900 when it was worth rather less a few years ago. I can still get comprehensive insurance with £200 excess and protected bonus for under £200 a year.

Nearly a 100% increase on the Defender on Tuesday.....did the Go Compare thing £40 cheaper with breakdown cover added than last year:yahoo:

Out of interest, is this the 'old' or 'new' Defender?

I know both are attractive targets for theft.

TD5 2006 model

Thanks.  I do use a 'Disklok' on my 1993 Defender.  When I bought it in 1995 it was a 'stolen recovery'!  Not really sure the Disklok helps and it is a bit 'tedious' to use, but I see it as a deterrent.

Well, I had a result yesterday.

Insurance on the Hilux is due at the end of the month, so I jumped on the comparison sites to see what quotes I could get.

I had to call my current insurers, Hastings Direct, and explained that I needed my no claims details for the comparison sites. I have recently had a renewal quote from them which was a just over £100 increase.

The lady that I was speaking to, said hold on a minute, let me see what I can do with your quote.

Long and short, cheaper than last year.

They were the cheapest for my car but wanted 400 more on the bike.

got my bike quoted with a £1250 excess . Didn’t realise that was possible
