He missed out the bit about not playing the young talent. We have the players but lack the team.
Gordon R
I am not a Jack Grealish fan - the lad is a talented idiot - but he should have gone to the euros. Playing Phil Foden out left was daft. Playing a right winger at left back was dumber. Of the ones we did take:- Rice - a shadow of his previous play. Bellingham - started okay and faded badly. Phil Foden - headless chicken. Harry Kane - awful. Mainoo - started brightly and then dire. Guehi - looked class. Trippier - Southgate played him out of position and was then shocked when it didn't really work. Palmer - no idea why he got on so late. Gordon - No idea why he went and never got an appearance. Saka - not the same player who lit up Arsenal's season. Dont forget Watkins Gordon - he would have put the fear of God into many of them - im sure and also Trent was worth another go Just now, jall25 said: Dont forget Watkins Gordon - he would have put the fear of God into many of them - im sure and also Trent was worth another go To me Bellingham has started to believe his own hype
Gordon R
Alexander-Arnold was dumped because he wasn't spraying passes from midfield to the forwards. That is true, but no-one seemed to comment that there was no-one up there to receive a pass. Harry Kane - on more than one occasion dropped back to centre half. A defensive game doesn't suit Alexander-Arnold. Watkins looked a threat - Kane didn't.

JKD
Agree with most of the above criticisms. During the tournament, a few on here suggested how Gareth should change players for the 'young legs' etc, but unfortunately, he didn't see our advice as he's not a member of PW 🤦♂️🙄😆🤣 As has been said,,,, our squad was made up of mainly great players, for their domestic teams. Unfortunately, they just didn't quite gel on the pitch this time round, despite getting to the final. Now I'm assuming here,,,, was GS under certain instructions from those above him ? To play HK was an obvious error, and Bellingham looked sluggish most of the time. As those two were our 'talisman' players, did this affect the way the others played,,,, high expectations, low effort ? Anyway,,,, onwards and upwards, hopefully 😆
Gordon R
I worry when the media suggest Eddie Howe - same mould as Southgate.

Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino have also been mentioned 🤷♂️ Big shoes to fill 🙂
