Hi

Hi   just a warning to be carefull a brand new PW member messaged me in response to a wanted ad  asking me to email a third party email as he had what i wanted .  the member name given me has no such post and  the whole thing screams BEWARE to me, I can confirm this has happened to me for a choke key & the request was to pay by PayPal F&F (so there is no claim to recover funds on Paypal)

Members with so many posts or verified in some way?

Absolutely, say 10-20 mod' verified posts before you can buy or sell. Sales section should also be hidden to non members if it isn't already.

Why would anyone trust sending money and giving their address to someone who's only just joined and is selling something?

Trouble is that 99% of members are decent and honest people and you tend to believe that everyone is the same , I do sell a few fairly low value items on the forum and have never had a single problem , to give a member peace of mind I now send them a copy of the post office receipt as soon as I post it so they know it's on the way and know roughly when to expect it , I know there is no need to but if the item get lost or take a long time to be delivered then they know it is not down to me :good:

Yet this still exists in the New Members section,,,,, 🤔

Can't see anywhere that this has been negated ? 🤷

Just totally abused and not enforced.

Access to the "Trading Post" is granted on the basis of being an active contributor to the content of the forum.

If you are only here to buy/sell then please look elsewhere to do so.

I will pass it upstairs

Thank you :) I’ve never had a problem but I wouldn’t do business with someone who’s got 0-1 posts or very few.

This is a great forum :) would hate to see wrong’uns using it to try and scam any of our members.

Depending on the constraints of the forum software but it is often possible to set automatic limits on when a new member can post in a certain section without first contributing a certain number a valid posts in other areas. This saves manual admin or moderator input.
