Manymissedpigeon
Out on Friday last to try out prototype pigeon magnet. It’s actually designed to take a dead bird flapper on the end so I waited and waited over laid barely to shoot my first bird, nothing, not a pigeon in the sky. If I’d have had my specs with me I could have passed the time reading of all the good days that were being had elsewhere! Eventually packed up and drove two miles and guess what? Combine hard at work with birds nearly landing on its hopper! But had to be home so went home, did my duties then went to bed dreaming of ( tomorrow actually) when I’m out on the new cut stubbles and hoping……….. hoping IMG_2187.mov

Wilts#Dave
Nick Tait already makes a magnet that runs with flappers on….not cheap so maybe why you’re making your own? Get back out on those stubbles for another go 👍🏼
Old Boggy
I would imagine that the glint of that arm in the sun would have an adverse effect on any pigeons that are likely to be near enough to shoot.

mellors
Nice job hope it works for you. But i think a flapper on that would be too heavy in the wind and blow over backwards. I've found an ff6 or two on adjustable extension rods works and far easier to carry.
oowee
Regardless of the kit you are using you need the right location. I have a rule when in doubt don't set out.

Most of us enjoy getting out and the challenge pigeons are a bonus. Bit like fishing.
oldypigeonpopper
Hello, It looks ok in principle but it needs adjusting so not to go to high as it makes the decoy look unnatural , a decoy on a bouncer has more effect in high crops, if you can reduce the arm holding the decoy as mentioned it maybe work better, rather than a dead pigeon which is quite heavy you can buy a light weight winged pigeon decoy which is what i use on a bouncer
