The Internet and developing minds

What age would the pigeon watch membership think is an age where children can be allowed watch  news on the internet unsupervised and be able to work out for themselves what is obviously untrue propagranda and what is clearly the truth,

Presumably there is an internet version of John Craven's newsround or similar that parents can trust to not be a subversive influence on developing young minds,

How do you go about doing that? What is the sign for something being ‘clearly the truth’? Adults struggle with this so I’m not sure how jr. is supposed to work it out.

You think subversive is a pejorative term?

Going by how upset my 15 year old was by some of the content he came across on utube about the Ukraine  /Russia conflict last year

  I'd say 21 at least .

Seriously  .

The age of enlistment in the UK is 16, I would think it is better they can see it on Social Media, than experience it for real.

Absolutely.

The sanitised version on Youtube is nothing compared to the reality of war, or even a Friday night out in the spicier areas of town.

https://www.reed.co.uk/career-advice/what-is-ecdl/#:~:text=ECDL is a worldwide recognised, range of fields and industries.  Should be available for you to complete at your local tech college, if that's of interest.  Certainly seemed to be people of 'a certain age' doing it when I was at college...

But no front-line duties till 18, not that that's much of an improvement.

These days he's telling us how racist the countryside is.

Although, when I was in Newsround's demographic, Craven had handed over to Krishnan Guru-Murthy.  Who now presents on Channel 4 news, that well known bastion of unbiase....nope sorry couldn't even finish typing that.
