yickdaz
Headed to same farm and rape stubbles we shot last weekend they had been disced but birds on them, looked at a different field over the A Road from those, that had been disced birds on it and flighting in watched for 15 minutes and looked good so got set up for 1pm they were reluctant to decoy at the start skirting the decoys leaving long range shots, once we had about a dozen down in the pattern they started coming a little better it was never hectic just steady away all afternoon packed up at 6.30pm with 117 picked 107 1 of which is the lightest coloured leusistic woodpigeon I've ever seen

Wilts#Dave
That’s some white woodie! Definitely making us work for it at the moment, getting them to decoy / offer a good shot. Really wanting the rape stubbles this year aren’t they, I shot another 100 on Wednesday off the same field I shot last Sunday and they’re still on it. Nicely done to get over the 100 mark 👍🏼 Edited August 10 by Wilts#Dave
yickdaz
Yes getting some of the best rape stubble shooting we have had in years this harvest there's other rape stubbles we could shoot birds on but I need clear my freezers first 9 minutes ago, Wilts#Dave said: That’s some white woodie! marsh man
Again some very good bags being shot on the stubbles , around here they are moving off the o s r stubble as it is now Greening over and going on the recently cut Spring barleys ,and now they have started on the Spring wheat , with this hot weather there will be very little left to do by this time next week . I had a couple of hours on some bailed up barley stubble yesterday , didn't seem that many about at first but putting a hide up against a round bail in the middle of the field I had fairly regular shooting and when my two hours was up I had 19 , more than enough for me as the cut off breasts will last me ages , I find it part of the Summer scene with shooting in the middle of a stubble field and with the bails being taken off everyday it won't last for much longer. That mottled Pigeon is a bit of a rarity , have seen the odd one before but not a everyday event
