TIGHTCHOKE
I was lucky to get tickets for this show where a friend was flying the Collections Lysander. I went early to get a spot at the front of the crowd. The weather was wonderful and thankfully the breeze was quite strong.

enfieldspares
In 1940 in the same Battle of Britain we, the British, we still flying biplanes as fighter aircraft, the Italians when they raided London, still flying open cockpit monoplanes as fighter aircraft. Four years later and the skies saw the first viable jet fighter aircraft. War certainly does accelerate innovation.

Rob85
I consider myself fortunate that a few years ago I got to see the BBMF Lanc and the other airworthy one (Canadian I think) flying together at the NI international airshow, even the commentator shut up just to listen to them 8 merlins roaring over. Watching them coming in at just a few hundred feet was just amazing. As much as the Spitfires and Lancs done for us, I have such a soft spot for the unsung hero's like the Lysander, Gladiator and the Swordfish.
