Nobody battered an eyelid if they saw a load of kids out playing as we did. But we had nothing like the crime we have now, getting to sound like my Dad "when i was a kid" Yep, same here but I don't know what questioned are asked when a 999 call is answered? is it just a case of ‘Hello, there's someone in the park with a gun? Westley Posted Wednesday at 19:25 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 19:25 We know absolutely nothing about this incident, other than, what has been 'reported'. At 5.30pm it would have been dark, what was the lighting in the park like ? It could well be an area where kids congregate and people are fed up with them. What we do know is that 13 year olds are perfectly capable of having and using weapons.
countryman Posted Wednesday at 20:44 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 20:44 I was actually with my 2 gran kids today and they both we’re playing with toy cap guns, it did cross my mind that some idiot could call the Police, this news story makes me realise I was not being paranoid. Sad times.
ordnance Posted Thursday at 19:05 Report Share Posted Thursday at 19:05 Nothing new common sense doesn't seem to be part of their training, it just wouldn't happen in this part of the UK 🙄 23 hours ago, Westley said: We know absolutely nothing about this incident, other than, what has been 'reported'. I have no doubt you will be making a statement of your version of events. I shall just wait for any body cam footage that may, or probably will not, ever emerge. You should have doubt because I don't know either, I do know armed police should know what a firearm looks like, and that is obviously a toy. Its bad when children can't play with toy guns without being challenged by armed police. As I said having some common sense is obviously not part of their training. ph5172 Posted yesterday at 07:39 Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:39 (edited) The mother has said it was a nerf gun - well the ‘reporter’ has like I said mum has managed to have her picture done but absent of the bright blue and orange sci fi looking ‘nerf gun’ These are ‘nerf guns’ available for next day delivery along with your toilet rolls Edited yesterday at 07:47 by ph5172
Rim Fire Posted yesterday at 07:57 Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:57 Its getting ridiculous kids cant play in a park with toy guns until it becomes a law they cant they are going to rather than being in a gang they play in a park with toy guns and have the armed police shouting at them if that is what happened i am glad i was born in the fifties we had a proper childhood the days have gone where i would grab my shotgun from above the mantle piece pocket full of cartridges and off up the tips

As I have attempted to point out, that it was also dark and we are unaware of the lighting. BUT, only last week MP's were talking of lowering the age of criminal responsibility, because of the numbers of 'children ' involved in violent offences. I am NOT surprised the little darlings were shouted at ? I think Mummy is after her '15 minutes of fame too' ?
