Sold everything from nails to traps and a lot more. He was quite old, always dressed with shirt tie and tweed jacket, and shoes polished to perfection, and used to carry sacks of potatoes ( old size heavy bags ) over his shoulder to people's car. He also stocked pellets and shotgun cartridges.
