im just wondering how many of you guys take your wives/girlfriends shooting ,the reason i ask is i took my better half clay shooting ,a little skeet and trap, not to long as the guns can be a little heavy for women to hold up for a long time, she took to this o/k  but nothing to write home about ,now the .22 lr rifle 50 mtr ,nothing but smiles , loved it ,hand gun took to the small cals well up to .357" mag, again prolonged gun up time is tiring but accuracy was good,my problem no is i dont sleep to well knowing she can hit what she points at :*) so how many of you guys shoot with the fairer sex :( and admit they can shoot too :*)

My fiancee is a dab hand with the shotgun and rifle last week she dropped 8 crows with 9 carts and sunday night she nailed a dozen bunnies with the rimmy without missing but she suffers from not being able to hold the gun up for long...Ithink this helps as she does not dwell on the target to long. :)

I know the feeling about going to sleep knowing she can shoot though. :(

Women are good rifle shots. Its the fact they are steady. Yet interstingly they make poor stalkers. This is because men have tunnel vison, which is ace for spoting your buck in a load of brambles however this means we cannot find the butter. Women on the otherhand are better at looking with wide angles and can find the butter.

But the main reason about the butter is that we are to lazy to find it ourselves :)

I started my Mrs clay shooting last summer and she really got hooked. We bought her, a Browning 425 for christmas and she's now hitting 70% on Skeet and DTL

and 60% on sporting layouts. Not bad seeing as she'd never picked up a gun before.

Only problem is it's twice as bloody expensive on a Sunday morning now !

She's having an affair ??? OR wants a new car!

Looking at the Shop Photos, It is just how I remeber the gunshops over there. They lock away the knives, but leave the rifles on the counter. The best one has to be the muzzelloader packaged like a toy hanging on a shelf! :(

Whilst on holiday a few years ago I took my wife to kelbrook to button for me, as my brother in law was not available. I offered her a go at shooting, but she declined. After a few stands, moan, moan and more moan. Now I mean, she had the glasses, the cap, the proper ear muffs, every bit of gear that the best dressed buttoner could want. Short of carefully placing the butt in her mouth there was going to be no shutting her up. I ended my shoot prematureley and we returned to our holiday home about 70 miles away.

The following day we went to Keswick shopping, now I quite like the place, and there is a very nice choccy shop, that she loves. Now I wont go into detail, because it would take too long, but I completeley sucseeded in messing up her day.

We returned to the car in virtual silence which was kept up untill we reached Arnside, not far from our destination. She announced that she didnt know what had got into me, and thanked me for ruining her day; she hadnt this and that etc. I simply replied touche'.

The penny dropped, she announced that she wasnt coming shooting again. I told her that she could go shooting as often as she liked, but not with me.

We now have it sussed. I drop her off in Skipton, and she shops, lunches, whatever. I go to Kelbrook, and shoot untill my shoulder drops off. She pays for the clays. I behave myself in the Keswick choccy shop.

It gets even better, she now even pays for my shooting trip to Scotland. Before Red says it. She can have an affair, as long as shes paying for the shooting.

My old Grandma always shows me the medals she got in WW2 for shooting when she was based in Biggin Hill, a real crackshot biddy. Wonder if last engineer minds taking her out and cosying up to the BIG G and showing her how to do it all over again :) :(

After seeing some of the international women shooters, they show good promise. About 3 or 4 years ago there was a chink lady who shot 400 straight at ISU skeet. And there are some present shooting 100 straights at DTL and Eng Skeet over here.
