I like ak47s.I think the airsoft weapons are pretty rubbish has they dont make a noise when they fire.Im not sure if my firends one is blank firing or fires caps but it is full metal construction. Can you modifie an airsoft gun to fire plastic caps.

You're getting into the relms of 'worrying gun fixation'.

My question wasn't loaded at all, just wondered what possible practical use these could have.

Just because I don't think they have any legitimate use doesn't mean there isn't one

same here they were the only things i could think off , lol i have been and watched a few battle reinactments .. other than that no use only for collectors then they wouldnt need to be blanks

What do you mean a gun fixation.Im not a gun nut or aything.

Questions on a shooting forum, relating to modification, convertion and alteration of firearms (especially when posted by somebody new to the site) will be viewed with 'a certain amount of suspicion'.

If anyone was to post a reply about converting a weapon (airsoft or not) on a public forum, I suspect it would be removed, pronto.

What would you want such a thing for?

to use and fire at a thug/would be burglar in the house - least you can prove you certainly had no intention of harming him/them but certainly make their white pants brown.

exactly why they are banned *****

that is one of the most stupid Ideas I've ever heard of, your average thief isn't going to believe you've an actual AK47 in the house. What it will mean is if they are armed you'll be in a lot of trouble

Dunno. I work in a rough area of South London and I'm damn sure some of the gaffs have Mac-10s, Uzis and AK47s in them.

What a ridiculous thing to post :good: .

Lifted from the below link:

http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/c...aff/95/9509.htm

"The Firearms (Amendment) Act 1994 made it an offence to possess a(n) firearm or imitation firearm "with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence", and extended a number of other offences relating to firearms misuse to cover imitation firearms."

Hope your FLO does'nt read this!

Guest The Outlaw

I found this thread interesting as I was advised to get a starting pistol for training my Springer soon to be Springers.

I would ask are they still available to by legally, and do you need a FAC to own one, Where could I get an alternative for the use I have mentioned.

They are still legal, for legitimate purposes like you mention.

Just be careful where you use them, there was a case of two ladies who ended up causing some picknickers to feel threatened and they ended up in court, and ended up with firearms convictions for it!

Lots of firearms law deals with items which when used in differing contexts then become firearms for the purposes of law. For example an air weapon is not considered a firearm in normal legal use, however if you commit the act of trespass in possession of an air weapon that offense then becomes "Armed Trespass". The air weapon is then considered a firearm and the penalty in theory is the same as if you'd taken an AK47 with you.
