Anyone else going thru the HELL that is "January Detox" ??

As any of the regular viewers of the "Clay Shooting" section may know, my recent performance* (OO-ER) has been somewhat lack-lustre....

....I have done some serious soul searching and put it down to my "detox" - i.e - I have not had an alcoholic drink or a bacon sandwich (the diet of all good clay shooters) since New Years Eve.............

..............till tonight.--------------------I have fallen off the wagon tonight :D:lol:

Anyone else suffering too ;)?

* It's funny how the English love an under-dog..... a great (sometimes mis-understood) member of PW saw the P-taking I was getting and offered to coach me to improve my shooting B) :D

If I gave up either of those I would be excommunicated from the Geordie brethren, and somehow forced to join the Southern Gayboys. No thanks :D

This has been the hardest (oo-er) and longest three weeks of my life.

But let's look at it -

PLUS +

+ No hangovers

+ record month at work

+ never posting something on PW I regret

+ lost 1 stone (no joke - in 3-4 weeks)

+ blood pressure returned to normal

+ not a hungover father - the most important

NEGATIVE -

- can't go to pub every Friday at 1600hrs

- can't go out for meals

- can't sleep for thinking about work

- go to bed at 9pm so I dont drink

- shoot like a ****** (some might say I did anyway)

Nope.

I had a boozy lunch and now I have the evening hangover.

Doh.

I hate those  gives me a headache for the rest of the day.

Given up abusing myself with drinking to much and having the odd cigar. I want to get healthy if I am to sort out my career in the army or police.

Im limmited to a beer or two per week (one month without anything so far). I really miss it, but its saved me a lot of money. And health.

Given up nothing in life other than cigarettes on my 30th in August last year...

That was a good move so well done to you guys for giving it a go but I'm taking the "eat and drink the same, exercise more" route and it works for me. As for giving up the dwink... one step at a time lads, one step at a time...

I gave up the booze about 5 years ago - too many drunken nights and hell hangovers the morning after -keep at it LV ( it'll make the missus happy anyway).

i do have the odd social drink now and then, buts that about it ( i now can have 1 or 2 without the need to come home upside down)
