Pirate
hiya, just out of interest, how many carts do you fire on each outing to the clay school? Hi fella: Is this outing, a lesson at the clay school, or just a general shoot? Pirate:
Chard
i am quite new to clay shooting and visited my local school today with my trusty 73 cartridges and used 54 clays (very good i was too) not! but was good fun but was over far too quick....... less than a hour and was over? do you make your visits to clay school last longer and if so how? Once you get going, you'll find that you'll end up in a mob of like-minded riff-raff    When you go round in a group of 4 or 6 or whatever, it makes it last much longer, waiting for the others to shoot and all the wind-up and banter. I know what you mean though, if there's only one or two of you shooting, it doesn't really seem like you're getting value for money. 100 clays today lasted well over two hours (that was only 4 of us), plus all the blather and coffee afterwards, makes a good afternoon of it Edited February 2, 2008 by Chard
petersclan
me and the good wife where alone and not a lesson just went down for a bit of fun really, can see what you are saying though, if went in a group would drag time out a bit and make a good afternoon, unfortunatly at mo we go alone due to not knowing anyone else local into shooting
Big_Sam
Only 50 last time, but I am waiting on the SGC so I buy by the trailer load
petersclan
unlike rough shooting, i find that i just get carried away with clays.........but because not good at em always try a second shot if miss first but still miss. i know my error and that is not giving enough lead on the clay

Stu S
Usually do 100 bird sporting, so usually around 100 - 105 then. Skeet sometimes do four rounds, so again 100 - 105. Practice - anything from 25 up to 150. Blimey, thats a hell of a lot of cartridges at £40 per 250!! Stu
AdamC
Typically shoot between 50 and 100 every week at a local shoot. One is a 50 bird that I sometimes do twice, the other is a 70 bird, but never done that twice as it is too much of a rush. Hoping that with the lighter evenings and an auto clay trap the old man and I can get a bit of cheap evening fun in mid week to.

MC
I am not sure how many I use on each visit although most shoots I do are 50birders. I fired in excess of 10,000 cartridges last year and possibly 2500 .22 rimfire rounds.
Yellow Bear
100 Once a week Boom, boom, boom, boom That should read - Boom, boom, miss, boom, boom, miss, boom or in my case - Boom, boom, miss, miss, miss, boom,
_Spud_
If I have had a stressful week at work, it would normally be 200, but if it’s just a normal few days it would be around 100 / 150.
the last engineer
a hell of a lot more than a 100, traveling as far as we do makes it worthwhile filling the truck up Martin
tazkb
well as the wife shoots as well we can do 250 a time but it gets a bit expensive and tiring
