Any decent hardware store will have what your looking for or if your going to be cheap sheat cutters strip of alluminium (or an off cut from a engineering workshop would do you) and couple of screws.

I would call them metal strap thingys to secure something round to a post/wall.

People know what your looking for when you talk sense

Ask for some "all round band" at any plumbing or electrical wholesalers. It comes plastic coated so won't rust and will probably work out cheaper than jubilee clips.

http://www.screwfix.com/prods/18298/Electr...Band-12mm-x-10m

How do you fasten that?

If you are mounting it on to a wooden post like in your original picture, then just put a wood screw in the end hole of the band, screw this into your post, wrap the band around your tube and cut off as much as you need, then put another wood screw through that end hole into the post.As you drive the screw into the post it tightens the band.

You could also use a nut and bolt instead of the screws.

Sounds a bit complicated, but is easy once you get the idea.

Cable ties are easier still :good:

Problem with that stuff is it only hold something if its screwed up all around. It wont tighten up and hold properly with friction, like a Jubilee clip will :good: Although that type of banding is very useful in construction for different purposes.

As for rust, most Jubilee clips are Zink coated or 'Galvanised' and will resist rust for quite a while before requiring replacment.

You can fix ANYTHING with Jubilee clips and ductape ??? I never go adventuring without a role of ductape. Cable ties also go everywhere on trips with me.

Not sure whether to put this in here or in the gamekeeping section. I am after some of the metal bands shown in the picture below as I am making some of these feeders.

What i don't know is what the metal securing bands are called to search for on google

Split band pipe clips - you get them at the same place as the pipe - the 160 should be relatively easy to find at a commercial plumbers as well as screw on end caps - all standard dr ainage items - If this is what you are making try 110mm and make them longer it will keep the price down and hold the same! ???:good:

Needs to be 160 to fit the spiral feeder in the bottom. It measures 142 across
